NH Association Residential Care Homes

NHARCH (New Hampshire Association of Residential Care Homes) needed a new website that would better serve their current member facilities by making it easier for them to manage their facility information AND make it quicker and easier for visitors of the site to find the right member facility for their loved one in need of Assisted Living Care Services.

Assisted Living Websites are a perfect match for Joomla

Because NHARCH wanted to full integrate all of their membership data and activity information seamlessly with the website Joomla was the right CMS for this project because it allows us to develop the database components directly into the Joomla CMS package to truly deliver a seamless organization content management system package.

What did we develop for the NHARCH website?

So glad you asked! This project featured a number of interesting content integration pieces that NHARCH wanted to be able to easily update and share throughout their assisted living website including:

• Multi-step location & feature based member residence search
• Featured Industry Partner Directory
• Events Calendar
• Industry News both public and members only
• Access for current members to manage their own facility information through the website
• Sponsorship display and management
• Global site search functionality

These are the major development elements that this project included, on top of all the normal stuff that comes with any Joomla website we do such as Search Engine Optimization Control, Menu Management Controls, and complete content organization and creation controls using the Joomla CMS package controls. For the purposes of this addition to our portfolio I wanted to focus on two of the most major system development elements, the residence search tool and the member login and information management tools.

Residence Search Tool – taking lots of options and making it into something easy to use

Rather than try to make a long winded explanation about this tool I felt it would be better to simply show you how this works. So I have created a screencast that details how the the residence search tool works for the NHARCH website. Please note that this has been built with the idea that it can be easily adapted to ANY state, not just NH. So if you are an ALFA organization elsewhere in the US and are interested in having something like this for your website it can definitely be done!

Members only content access and profile management

The second feature I wanted to show here was how the association members can be so much more involved with the NHARCH organization simply by managing they own information, contributing open jobs, and sharing events with the online community calendar. These are all functions that the active members of the association can now accomplish using quick simple form editing controls that require ZERO programming ability to use. This members only component also allows the NHARCH association to publish content that is for their members ONLY. So if there is special news, information or updates and details that they want to quickly get out to all their members without having to send a bunch of emails with attachments and such, they can simply create a new content item on the website, make it for members only and then email their members a link to it on the site so they can get the info and all the files they want to share in a timely secure fashion. check it out for yourself.

This is just the tip of the iceberg
